Innovation:
The project transforms a compact, structurally constrained space (42 sqm with a central load-bearing column) into an immersive brand experience, showcasing innovation. Design constraints are reimagined as narrative tools: the unremovable column symbolizes a grapevine stake and charred oak barrels, while 24 metal strips embedded in the floor represent time, echoing 24-hour cycles and Chinese solar terms. Handcrafted resin panels, heat-bent to fit curved walls, mimic cognac’s textures and colors, symbolizing its flavors and the cycle of time. Together with the central column and display stand, they create a visual representation of oak burning in barrels and the growth of grapevines through countless sunrises and sunsets. Custom lighting enhances the multi-sensory journey with a warm, sunset-like glow. These elements demonstrate how innovative design turns limitations into storytelling opportunities.
Functionality:
Despite its small footprint, the space maximizes functionality through intuitive layouts and modular design. The central column doubles as a display element, while the 24 metal strips and display stand guide visitors through a natural flow. A tasting area and mini bar provide interactive experiences, allowing guests to engage deeply with the brand. Durable materials, such as resin and natural stone, ensure longevity, while flexible furniture and display units allow for future reconfiguration, minimizing waste.
Creativity:
The design creatively integrates Hennessy’s heritage into every detail. Dark oak veneer walls evoke the aging process in charred barrels, while irregular stone tiles reflect vineyard soil, symbolizing growth. Resin panels and lighting transform the space into a dynamic canvas, where light and texture interact to evoke the brand’s essence. The result is a poetic, multi-layered narrative that blends artistry with functionality, offering visitors a unique and memorable experience.
Eco-Social Impact:
The project prioritizes sustainability by using locally sourced materials, such as natural stone and oak veneer, to reduce transportation emissions. Durable, low-impact materials like resin and energy-efficient lighting minimize waste and operational energy needs. The compact design reduces material consumption, while modular elements ensure adaptability for future use. Socially, the space fosters cultural exchange by introducing Hennessy Cognac—a culturally unfamiliar product—to the local market. It educates visitors about craftsmanship and heritage, creating an inclusive environment that appeals to diverse audiences.
By addressing innovation, functionality, creativity, and eco-social impact, the project not only enhances brand engagement but also sets a benchmark for sustainable and inclusive retail design.
