At the heart of our clinic design is a striking floor-to-ceiling cube, clad in green acrylic, around which the treatment rooms are thoughtfully arranged. This centerpiece not only meets practical needs but also fosters a personal and inviting atmosphere. - Daniel Schäfer
At the entrance of the dental clinic strikes a counter made of foamed aluminium, which stands in the room like an art object. - Daniel Schäfer
The counter and many other elements, such as the partition wall made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic that separates the reception from the waiting area, underline the client‘s vision of designing a practice like a gallery. - Daniel Schäfer

The dental prophylaxis practice T7.2 in Berlins west centre is an extension to the T7 dental practice located in the same building, which was previously designed by Batek Architekten. As with the first practice, the concept follows the client‘s brief and creates an interior design that is reminiscent of an art gallery.

The bright, minimalist space serves as a functional environment not only for the medical activities of daily operations, but also as a stage for the client‘s selected individual pieces, which lend the practice a personal touch. By that, a positive and calm, almost living room like atmosphere is created, which adds to the well being of the patients and the staff. A floor-to-ceiling cube clad in green acrylic glass creates a striking accent and so follows the design approach of the previous project with a completely yellow reception area. It is at the centre of the practice, around which the various treatment rooms are arranged, and accommodates functional spaces for the staff.

The stringent and forward-looking spatial organization is executed in thought-out materials and colours. Special attention is placed on the partition wall made of glass fibre reinforced plastic, which separates the reception from the waiting area, as well as the reception counter made of foamed aluminium. Corresponding to the overall design, these elements also appear like works of art in the interior. The doors to the treatment rooms are made of walnut wood and cathedral glass, which offset the otherwise cool, minimalist materials. The translucent quality of the unique glass conveys a certain openness without compromising the privacy of the patients. They also create a harmonious connection to the combination of new and old furniture in the waiting area.

To break from the cohesive and balanced design, the floor, ceiling, walls and fixtures of the sanitary facilities were completely immersed in pink. The colour shines through the open vestibule into the hallway, sets a moody accent and makes the visit a remarkable experience.

With this prophylactic practice, we succeeded in creating a design that not only fulfills functional requirements, but also creates an aesthetic and personal atmosphere. The combination of contemporary design and classic elements as well as the innovative choice of materials make the practice a unique and inspiring place that goes beyond its purely medical purpose.
