In 2001, Italian architect Vittorio Gregotti was invited to plan the cityscape of the New City of Pujiang, Shanghai. Twenty years later, One House Design moved into its new office in the iconic two-story building created by Gregotti, thereby opening a dialog of design across time and space.

Evolving from the characteristics of the site and building blocks, the interior design breaks the original internal structure and explores the possibility of freedom in a composite layout, clarifying the needs and returning to the root. With a free plane, as well as smooth moving line, the dynamic and static areas are separated reasonably. A repetitive, array-like order is created thanks to the large windows of the original building. Multiple void areas bring in natural light and interactivity between the two floors.

The first floor consists of the reception, exhibition, conference and leisure spaces, while the second floor is dedicated to office areas and terraces. We also find discussion zones in the open office areas, together with two independent conference rooms that are flexible and available for informal or business meetings. With an open, airy architecture, the new office of One House Design weaves together the indoor and outdoor spaces as well as architecture and landscape.

The designer is very particular about space segmentation, material ratio, lighting effect, color use and office furniture selection. With orderly levels and transparent texture, they jointly create a modern and simple office space to promote communication between people and design. It greatly improves employees' experience and gradually enlarge the potential value of space.

The designer follows the principles of architectural aesthetics and pursuit the artistry of interior design. The natural ecology, forward-looking thinking and sustainable development concept contained in it are also the highlights that cannot be ignored in its design.

As for company expansion, function expansion and product durability, we should not only consider the current needs but also fully consider the needs of the next three or five years, or even longer in the future, so as to provide staff with better experience and sustainability. In terms of material selection, the designer doesn’t pursue the luxury, fashionable and style tendencies, rejects a large number of synthetic chemical materials and choose ecological building materials to avoid affecting people's health and even the destruction of the ecological environment.

In terms of design ingenuity, the designer makes full use of the architectural advantages, natural light and sight are introduced by high ceilings and window frame view, thus reducing the energy waste caused by a large number of artificial lighting and air-conditioning temperature control. In terms of ecology, the terraces on the west and south sides, so as to make employees closer to nature and wash their soul when they are sleepy.
