Telekom has opened its largest European store in Hamburg. On an area of 875 m², the flagship store gives customers a superlative, vibrant shopping and brand experience. A main pillar of Telekom‘s strategy is direct customer interaction. Contrary to the prevailing trend, the brand invests in brick-and-mortar retail. Because in sales and customer service, it's the human touch that makes the difference.
The focus here is on inspiration, warm hospitality, customer service as well as sustainability. Telekom can be the perfect host, and on two floors customers can experience what connects. While parents receive consultations, children can play in dedicated Kids' corners. A coffee bar and demo areas invite visitors to linger and explore. A special feature is also the integrated event area. It can be rented by corporate clients, customers and shop employees can use it for workshops.
Hamburg’s port has been the inspiration for LEPEL & LEPEL's design concept: "WATERKANT". Inside the robust angular space, wave-like ceiling installations and fluid mirroring effects evoke the theme of water. Container-styled walls reference Hamburg as a port. Regionally designed graphical elements provide analogue and digital connections between brand and location. A core element is a striking, magenta coloured staircase which celebrates the brand. It gives the welcome counter a dramatic scenery that subtly stages the theme of water using lively light displays.
The "clear casing" designed by LEPEL & LEPEL, as a constant element of the Telekom retail design, frames the entire interior with black ceilings and walls, and makes the magenta brand world shine.
In Hamburg’s Telekom flagship store, sustainability and environmental consciousness are becoming a part of the experiential world. A green ceiling intentionally highlights the central welcome area on the ground floor and supports the ambiance and indoor climate. The hanging plants are visible from the outside and visually connect the floors inside.
Sustainability is woven into the concept throughout, including the use of local materials, recycled and cradle to cradle certified materials, as well as a thoughtful approach to existing building structures.
With its distinctive brand presentation and optimal support for service, advice and events, LEPEL & LEPEL is sending out a clear statement for future-proof retail design and affirming bricks-and-mortar retail: BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS! The concept of creating a place of warm hospitality with a relaxed quality of stay is also integrated into the brand strategy for further Telekom shops in Germany.
