Finishes

Designed to showcase Zara’s ski collection, this project was conceived as an immersive space where nature — and more specifically the glacial world — served as the primary source of inspiration. The organic forms of icebergs, shaped by the flow of glacial water, informed the design of the structural elements within the space.

This formal approach gives the environment a sense of fluidity, both visually and functionally, while maintaining clean, elegant lines. The space gradually reveals itself along the visitor’s path, with various functions subtly integrated into the spatial journey.

Special attention was given to the selection of materials, lighting, and color palette in order to evoke the cold, luminous atmosphere of glaciers. A focused material study led to the development of a unique plaster finish that mimics the texture of natural snow. The main challenge lay in recreating the visual and tactile qualities of snow — its shimmer, sparkle, and powdery surface. An innovative solution was developed: a coating composed of glass microbeads applied over a white base, delicately reproducing the brilliance and subtlety of fresh snow.

Beyond its aesthetic ambition, the project resonated within its local context, becoming — during its installation — a place of gathering and interaction. It sparked curiosity among both residents and visitors, transforming the retail space into a shared experience. A local artisan was also invited to participate, offering his products on site.
