Skagerak’s two-storey Flagship Store was founded 23 years ago. Located in the Freeport of Copenhagen, it resides in the former Post and Tele Office building which was built back in 1906. For many years, it was merely an ordinary showroom focusing on sales to private customers. But in 2015, Skagerak decided to change that for good. With the help of the graphic design agency All the Way to Paris, a completely transformed flagship store stood ready in primo 2016. Today, the old red brick house is nothing less than the true embodiment of Skagerak’s brand identity – bringing people together through good design, responsible thinking and a sincere predilection for quality. To become this, the house was made into an authentic, Danish home with living rooms, office, kitchen. Most objects come from Skagerak’s own collection, but supporting elements such fireplaces, books, magazines, flowers, lamps and not least the grand old chestnut standing in the middle of the garden adds to the feeling of being home. Since the transformation, a series of new artworks have been adorning the walls in the old harbour building. The collection includes lithographs by a mix of Danish and foreign artists, acquired from the international art gallery and workshop, Edition Copenhagen.
