Chengdu MixC Store
The project utilized bamboo as a medium to seamlessly fuse the brand’s sustainable DNA with Chengdu’s cultural context. Through a holistic approach of technical innovation, functional upgrade, and eco-conscious practice, it established a new paradigm for temporary spaces—one that balanced aesthetic appeal with social significance.

Innovation:
Challenging conventional notions of temporary commercial spaces, the project pioneered a modular, detachable design as its key innovation. The display system combined European beech wood rods with stainless steel frames, utilizing silicone vacuum suction pads for fixation, ensuring trace-free installation without damaging the floor. Bamboo-inspired support poles were tilted at 5–10°, leveraging mechanical balance to ensure structural stability. In addition, modular components allowed for flexible configuration to adapt to various scenarios, extending the materials’ lifespan while enhancing sustainability and practicality.

Functionality:
Focusing on user behaviors and spatial efficiency, the project developed a modular framework for rapid assembly and reconfiguration, perfectly supporting the year-long pop-up store’s dynamic operations. Anti-slip suction pads and anti-tipping features ensured safety and stability, while artistic wall coatings and natural wood tones evoked a nature-infused atmosphere, echoing the brand’s philosophy of “symbiosis with nature.” The fusion of functionality and aesthetics transformed the space into an immersive hub for urban outdoor culture, seamlessly integrating retail displays, social interaction, and experiential engagement.

Creativity:
Bamboo nodes were translated into distinctive visual symbols, articulated through the interplay of materials—beech wood, stainless steel, and artistic paint— and structural gestures such as inclined supports and modular joints. The natural texture of bamboo engages in a dialogue with industrial materials, conveying the aesthetic concept of “primitive meets modern.” Artistic coatings emulated natural terrain, reinforcing local cultural identity. Meanwhile, the innovative application of suction-cup technology transcended the “one-time-use” constraints of temporary spaces, granting the design enduring vitality.

Eco-Social Impact:
Sustainability anchored every stage of the project’s lifecycle. Bamboo and beech wood, both renewable materials, were paired with recyclable stainless steel frames and Class A fire-resistant coatings to enhance sustainability. The modular system minimized construction waste, while the innovative vacuum suction technology lowered energy consumption during installation. As a dynamic urban cultural hub, this year-long pop-up store has energized the local community and contributed to Chengdu’s vision of a park city and low-carbon society.
