SVB was lacking a strong and cohesive brand identity throughout their workspaces. They wanted their clients to enter their offices and immediately know that SVB ‘gets them.’ They asked the designers to deliver immersive and integrated brand experiences to drive staff and client engagement within the NYC office. The design team physically interpreted SVB’s client promise and brand stories into the interior architecture, the environmental graphics, and the overall experience.
The designers helped find a desirable 19,269 sq ft Midtown space, situated right above street level instead of on an unapproachable top floor, to drive home the company’s focus on client accessibility.
Through clever space planning and transparent glass doors with card key access, visitor accessible spaces are portioned off from secure employee office space without obvious barriers. In other words, the customer welcome is always primary, while the security of the office is continuous.
The client area was made specifically for client interactions large and small, and it provides a physical and mental safe space – a pause if you will – that allows for trust to grow. Within the Events Center, a client can grab a drink or a bite to eat in the cafe, use a restroom, relax in the seating area, or move to private conference rooms. Powered communal seats throughout support a “work from anywhere” approach.
