This facility is the Client Experience Center. Planned to occupy 770 m2 on the top floor of the new office's 7,700 m2, this collaboration space is positioned as a place for giving birth to breakthroughs or new businesses by enabling clients to experience the latest solutions or research results through movies and discussions.
>Requirements
Situations where information is casually exchanged while experiencing technology still in development and situations where confidential information is reliably conveyed both exist. In addition, it was also necessary to assume that there will be occasions where the collaboration does not fit within either of these groups. The mission of this project thus became the realization of a space where diverse kinds of communication could be carried out while maintaining an open, airy feeling.
>Strategy
It was clear that the above requirements could not be met with the approach of rationally arranging rooms and hallways as if solving a puzzle. Instead, we considered the activities as "ecosystems" and modeled reality while exploring conditions that could maximize activity. What we arrived at were complex and intricate boundaries like the coastline of an archipelago, with the tidal currents flowing among the islands blending the ecologies, and the rocky shores and shallow areas fostering corresponding business activities. We considered this image to be the basic requirements for the characteristics that the space should be given.
