HEYTEA originated from an instant inspiration of mixing cheese with tea, We devoted to rejuvenating tea culture for a new generation of customers, which is also the principle followed by the space design team of HEYTEA. Through the practice and design of creating the variety of space experiences, HEYTEA’s space design team builds the space to bind people with things and connect people with each other where the public can feel joy and generate inspiration.

Inspired by its unique and advantageous location, this project took “universal gravitation” as the design concept, turned the store into the universe of inspiration and utilized sphere as the medium to release energy in order to present “Chaoyang gravitation” of Beijing. It also constructed a community by using varied design techniques to attract and connect people with people, people with things, and people with space. The element of sphere represents the endless imagination of human beings on the celestial bodies in universe. We used the "sphere " to visualize the gravitation, and arranged multiple spheres throughout the entire designed space.

The main sphere suspended directly above the entrance of the store plays the role of the visual focus of the entire space, symbolizing that people in the space feel the energy field brought by the sphere. The sub-sphere is settled at the serving area and echoes with the main sphere in the preset foot traffic flow presenting the relay and continuation of the gravitational force. Combined with the brand logo emitted by neon light source, the sub-sphere continuously spread gravitational field energy. The fire engine access contained in the site was the main difficulty of the project. We divided the space accordingly and separated the fire engine access from public zone to build an immersive tunnel. The bar area is integrated into the part of the foot traffic flow, which naturally shows the process of making drinks for customers.

In the decoration part, the usage of wall angles and the reflection of light and materials create the unpredictable change of scene. Passing by the sphere and walking into the virtual and real space in which the water pattern lamps create ripples from top to bottom, the viewers shuttle between reality and fantasy. The exit was designed into the form of revolving lantern to simulate the rapid development of times and express the sense of future in a dynamic way.

Modular design was applied to the interior furniture, which planarizes the elements of three-dimensional sphere and separates them into small seats for free combination for flexible usages responding to different scenarios. Natural elements such as plants and water patterns were also added to enrich the energy source in the field, making the space more inspired.
