Apgujeong in Gangnam, South Korea, is the place where young rich people and high-quality culture are exposed and accepted the fastest. We have designed and constructed a 'from' hair shop in Apgujeong that brings new changes to hair and makeup.
The first impression of the space we were going to talk about was a 2.2m low floor height that felt stuffy by pressing the time. It was necessary to consider the space to solve the frustration of the low floor height, and we came to think about the verticality and horizontality of the structure.
All structures in the space are designed to be heterogeneous so that they can look long, and structures are stacked by changing horizontally so that they can look wide.
In particular, it was intended to balance horizontal and vertical in the mirror stand area, and the arrangement of structures that do not cover the external windows behind the mirror stand area resolved the frustration caused by low floors with visibility and light flowing from the outside.
Using brush steel, acrylic, and stone in harmony, the deformed structure is given a sense of unity.
The makeup room focused on the makeup lighting by sticking to the basics without adding as much as possible to make the main character stand out.
For a calm atmosphere and weight, both tables and chairs are made of brush steel. In order to provide comfort when seated, we wanted to increase the thickness of the cushion and use velvet materials to offset the coldness of the brush steel to express a harmonious calmness.
