The cave and the terrace form two visual images, folded and flat, and act as two different functions and scales of space, and this project draws on these ends to create two spatial interfaces, the folded and the smooth. They each contain the function of a reception and the function of a lobby.
The exterior consists of a succession of overlapping spherical units, cut to create a coexistence of real and imaginary spaces, with a reflective stainless steel façade churning the outside world. The surface is distorted, deformed, absurd, destructive and ambitious, as the reflections muddy the surrounding landscape. The material also creates a temporality, the landscape is new every moment, a process of constant generation.
The interior is a quiet, unreal dreamscape: here the walls are straight, smooth and ambiguous, with illusory images on the walls blurring the borders and extending the space.
In the centre of the gallery is the wine room and two small private rooms, flanked by all the wines of the wine room. At either end of the corridor are two large and two small rooms, which serve as open dining areas and are made of metallic materials in vague and contrasting colours.
