Furniture of the Year

Tai Kwun Chairs, Arta Architects (8.31)

‘An interesting, innovative and well-working view on a seat that can be added to create a seating area on large stairs,’says Jukka Halminen, founding partner and creative lead at Design Office KOKO3.

Lighting of the Year

Array, Umut Yamac (8.09)

‘This product stands out with a very elegant look being both fragile and impressive at the same time, ’says  Jukka Halminen, founding partner and creative lead at Design Office KOKO3. ‘Functional for what it’s designed for and innovative in the way it’s made, it is also sustainable because of its sparse use of material.’

Finishes of the Year

ArchiFolds for Hermès, Studio Samira Boon (8.55)

‘The origami concept is brilliant, giving the product a three-dimensional form with parametric textures,’ says Zhang Ye, founder and chief architect of LZA.

Accessories of the Year

BLT Menu, Bright Little Things (7.47)

‘Rigorous work, but also casual and friendly,’ says Javier Jiménez Iniesta, architect and director at Studio Animal. ‘I love the way colour and humour are incorporated into a sector that is often too uptight.’
