In August 2017, Uppsala University's administration and management left its old premises. The moving vans went to a 20,000 m2 newly built building, Segerstedthuset. Indicum interior designers have worked with the space planning, color palette and interior design and furnishings for this building that has created a buzz and is located in Uppsala's historic quarter, with the Botanical Garden as its neighbor.

Here was the task at hand; 600 people would get a whole new workspace with areas for increased collaboration and well-being. The floor plan would also support different ways of working, for example activity-based working and traditional offices with permanent workstations in small and large rooms.

The building is organized like a triangle with a stairwell in every corner, which provides an efficient workplace with short communication routes. In the middle there is a large atrium that gives sunlight and overview of the interior of the building.

The colors, shapes and materials of the interiors have been inspired by nature and the work name during the project has been "a house in the park". The interior environment takes on the form of the facade with oblique lines and triangular shapes, ranging from wooden benches to table tops. A large part of the interior is also specially designed to match the building's architecture. To facilitate way finding in the building, the floor plans have been separated by different colors. Many walls are also fully covered with plants.
