The space needed to cater to different occasions and we feel we have created an engaging journey through the space, each visit you can discover something new and interact with the space differently. From the very entry, we wanted to create an experience that was beautiful, eerie and somewhat, otherworldly. You arrive at the lounge, the quieter area where the ceiling lifts a little and we have our first view of the scales on the bar as it wraps it’s way toward the main venue. Graffiti on the walls lets you know you are being watched, whist the antiqued mirrors let you see others. The space is more intimate here, but the draw to the larger space is inevitable. As you pass through to the main space and along the custom tile- decorated bar (by KAZA concrete) who’s scale and form transport you to a place once loved, the music drives up and the sound and action from the twin pinball machines bring the space to life. You are immediately met by the oversized neon symbol for Erzulie the Loa of Love, that floats above a central seating group of reclaimed armchairs seemingly left by previous tenants. A tattoo chair and mixed seating bring an informal and unconventional feel to the sand mixed seating bring an informal and unconventional feel to the space. We move outside to the most urban delipidated area. Black palm trees cast shadow and canopy to the afternoon sun, but by night, their silhouette bring rings of neon light over the broken, misshapen floor.
