Shangyu Museum is located in Shangyu City, Zhejiang Province. The shape of the building is like two superimposed cubes, which show special tension after twisting. Since ancient times, there have been many scholars in Shangyu. Starting from the cultural characteristics, the architectural design covers the outside of the glass with vertical columns that resemble book pages, forming a rhythm of contrast between the virtual and the real.
The lighting design method breaks through the conventions. Starting from the cultural attributes of the building, two processing methods, active and passive, are adopted. For the building body, we use bright lighting to emphasize the thickness of the block and its turning relationship. For the details, we used line lamps to emphasize the detailed local structure. At some windows and entrances, we additionally used detailed lighting to show the staggered relationship between heavy buildings and exquisite details.
The design intention is to evoke people's memory and interest in local culture through the shaping of abstract historical pages, and fundamentally change the inherent impression of traditional elements in people's minds.
In order to save energy as much as possible, in the selection of equipment, we not only care about the effect, but also use precise light distribution methods and low-power and high-efficiency lamps to achieve the purpose of saving energy. After the completion of the project, it has become a very dazzling local cultural landmark. When it glows at night, it also calls on locals to pay more attention to the history and culture of the city.
