The principle of integration with the natural landscape formed the basis of the interior design. Panoramic glazing expands the boundaries of the interior and incorporates the surrounding landscape into the interior space. The lobby and galleries adjacent to it are treated as part of the street, while the elevator halls and inter-apartment corridors are seen as an internal space, isolated from the street.
So, in the proposed design, two themes emerged: a light "wooden" theme (a reference to nature, to the river, to natural materials, stone and wood, and a play on these images) and a dark theme. This visual contrast draws a clear distinction between the open and the chamber, the public and the private.
Smooth lines on the floor, as an allusion to the theme of the coastal strip and the edge of the water - an association with natural materials. Rounded soft forms - the image of pebbles and weathered rocks. Dark ceilings with spotlights - sun reflections on the water and the night sky. Individual design elements such as concrete flowerbeds in the galleries or greenery integrated into the design of the mailboxes and screens behind the reception desk only strengthen the natural parallel. The rounded decorative elements on the lobby ceiling are an image of clouds, or leaves. These constructions are not only part of the ceiling's sculptural composition, but are also lighting elements.
The materials used look authentic and natural, and were made to the most demanding environmental standards in the vicinity of the building in accordance with LEED standards. Fibrogypsum panels with the addition of marble chips, tinted with ash, are used as the main and most expressive finishing material. Local production, no toxic polyesters and eco-friendly basalt filaments make this material as clean as possible. The project also uses porcelain stoneware of various patterns and formats. On the floors the pattern has a fine grain and imitates the texture of concrete, on the walls is used porcelain stoneware large format imitating wood, including milled wooden panels. The choice in favour of porcelain stoneware is determined primarily by its fire and performance qualities.
In addition to environmental standards, the theme of sustainability is supported by the design philosophy itself, in which there is no redundancy and pretentious interior details, where space is filled with meaningful austerity. We believe that through this philosophy it is possible to reduce the amount of meaningless consumption, overproduction and thus make the world more sustainable.
