The new technology development center project for TAIYO HOLDINGS Group, the world's leading provider of semiconductor solder resists materials. As a one-of-a-kind research facility that will showcase its presence to the world, this project, located in Ranzan, Saitama Prefecture, has adopted the base concept of "From Ranzan to the world. From the world to Ranzan." In order to make this span three-floor office into a space where innovation takes place, the first step was to clearly define the meaning to be given to each area.

The 4th floor serves as the main office, where spots for quick meetings are scattered around, creating a space where soft ideas, the source of creativity, can freely flow and interact.

The 5th floor is divided into two zones: an open area for diverse communication and a highly focused area at the opposite end. The communication area is called "Active" and is equipped with elements that facilitate discussion, such as open sofas, and presentation tables. In contrast, the highly focused area is called "Quiet" and is designed for individual work and input, with focus booths, personal chairs, and a library.

The top 6th floor serves as the main visitor area and premium ABW area. A reception conference room, a VIP lounge, and a multipurpose hall, catering to a variety of needs. These spots are connected by a walkway paved with natural stone from Nagano Prefecture, and high-quality materials from all over Japan are scattered throughout, such as Anji stone from Kagawa and solid wood tabletops from Gifu and Hokkaido.

By dividing the functions of each floor, the project aims to encourage movement and foster spontaneous communication. Connected by an atrium and a staircase, preventing complete separation of the floors while maintaining a sense of unity and allowing for quick movement between them. The atrium is polygonal in shape, and slight shifts in position on each floor create differences in perspective when looking down or up, adding dynamism to the space.

Embracing the significance of being located in the abundant nature, natural forms, and materials are generously incorporated. The focus is not just on visual harmony with nature but also on fostering an understanding of nature and environmental awareness through the selection of materials.
Unusually for a research facility, the entire building has acquired ZEB Ready, CASBEE S-Rank, and Wellness Office S-Rank certifications, making it a facility that considers both people and the environment.

On the 5th and 6th floors, power outlets are not provided as much as possible at each seat, and mobile battery stations are placed in various locations. The space is designed with flexibility so that furniture can be easily moved to accommodate future changes in functionality. By embracing adaptability rather than a cycle of construction and demolition, we are confident that this carefully crafted space can be utilized for an extended period, contributing to a sustainable future.
