"The project was set out to create an empathetic workplace using rhythm as the key spatial design tool. Using a combination of simple geometric shapes with striking colors, and neutral tones and textures create an evocative spatial rhythm.

Set against the background of encouraging workers to return to the office, this small workspace is a result of connecting two smaller apartment units and converting them into a single coherent workspace.

The project explores cyclical rhythm through the continuous and neutral tones for the flooring, walls and ceilings, and linear rhythm through the geometric shapes with striking colors for the work desks, meeting desks and the breakout space.

Each programmatic activity is imagined as a different rhythm which exists at the intersection of place, time, and expenditure of energy. So, the design of the spatial configuration aims to accommodate the different rhythms instead of accommodating only the designated programmatic activity.

Different rhythm for focused individual contribution, a different rhythm to meet, socialize and rejuvenate, and a different rhythm for group work. The combination of simple geometric shapes with striking colors and neutral tones and textures addresses these rhythms instead of fixed dogmatic programs."
