Parts and Labor Design was tasked with conceptualizing a co-working space located in New York City that gives a nod to the industrial character of the City while achieving a heightened level of sophistication. Attracting an established client base, Blender was designed to be both edgy and timeless — providing workers with a professional space that evokes the feeling of permanence. Upscale and thoughtful, Blender features high-end furniture, custom light fixtures and curated artwork. Each room in the 15,000 square foot office was designed to inspire conversation and facilitate collaboration. The designers focused on creating diversified “moments” to energize the worker throughout the day. Jungle-inspired wallpaper in the bathrooms and the art gallery in the cafe and lounge incorporate fun and and unexpected moments, resulting in a reimagined co-working space with exciting design elements meant to engage the lifestyle-conscious client. Blender also features amenities including a 232-square-meter cafe and event space with a large bar, luxurious finishes, and twenty different types of furniture and seating. Privacy booths, outfitted with built-in seating and tables, are located throughout the office where clients can take phone calls and hold impromptu meetings. The space boasts 36 private offices and a variety of conference rooms with sliding doors, linear LED light fixtures, black marker boards, and desks with integrated tech trays.
