A contemporary Tea Blending Chest – which includes everything you need for blending the perfect cup of tea – has been created and handcrafted by Scottish design house Method Studio.
It is the result of a special commission to the bespoke furniture atelier from the London Picadilly institution Fortnum & Mason. Method Studio comprises husband and wife team Callum G. Robinson and Marisa Giannasi, who were asked to ‘create something special’ for the prestigious store.
Combining a rich, bespoke cabinetmaking background with an architectural eye for precision and the dynamics of space, the product is handcrafted in oiled Scottish oak, British bridle leather and solid polished brass.
The case is wrapped in diamond-tooled leather to evoke the wicker weave of a traditional Fortnum & Mason hamper. It is secured with a pair of polished cast-brass buckles and thick bridle leather straps, which are skillfully inlaid into the surface of the timber.
There is even a secret compartment in the chest where a silver caddy spoon can be discovered – the perfect implement with which to help create your perfect cup of tea.
