A warm, sculptural collection from outdoor brand Vondom ditches heavy, old-school shapes and reimagines what life alfresco can look like.
The best open-air living spaces foster communion between people and nature. Vondom’s Pasadena Collection, created in collaboration with Jean-Marie Massaud, articulates just that: spaces that are at once defined and fluid. Whether anchored by just one piece of the collection or framed by all of its elements, the stage is set for rest, connection and comfort. Architectural but plush, technical but luxurious, the set of lounge chairs, modular sofas, side tables and sun loungers marry form and function – with flexibility in mind. ‘Balance,’ Massaud says, ‘is the key to timelessness.’
Pasadena continues Vondom’s decades-long tradition of inventive, inspiring design.
Crafted from aluminium, durable acrylic fabric and bouncy, cold-moulded polyurethane – prized by many manufacturers for its thermal insulation, robustness, supreme support and tear-resistance – the pieces are designed to withstand the elements while maintaining the rich character of indoor furniture. Weatherproof foam and high-performance textiles ensure that Pasadena lasts for years; the refined design safeguards the collection from the inevitable ebb and flow of trends. On all fronts, Pasadena is likely to stand the test of time.

Massaud’s architectural past is evident in Pasadena’s structural nuance, but so, too, is his product and lab design experience. Gently rolled sofa arms evoke the ovoid curves of a volcano-shaped stadium; ergonomics are considered as intently in the smart structuring of a side table as they are in a slick speedboat. There is ‘nothing exaggerated,’ according to Massaud, and it’s certainly true. Each piece avoids the prosaic in favour of soft profiles and a lightness of line. The collection is a seamless extension of Massaud’s long-standing partnership with the vanguard Spanish furniture maker.

The collection is ideal for elevating any garden or patio, effortlessly integrating out-of-doors leisure spaces into the home. Living space needn’t be bounded by windows and walls. Pasadena proves that life lived outdoors can be just as comfortable as interior moments. Vondom’s collection will make its debut at Salone del Mobile 2025.
