Canadian studio Partisans and Singapore-based Dutch architect Camiel Weijenberg were among the design talents selected as laureates of the platinum A' Design Award in the annual competition's 2014-2015 edition. Sweeping the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category with its smooth interior of curvacious timber, Partisans' Grotto Sauna is a habitable haven embedded into a craggy landscape.
Topping 2015's Interior space and Exhibition design category, Camiel Weijenberg's Taipei restaurant Raw reflects the culinary offerings of Chef André Chiang with a canopy and bar carved from an organically-shaped wooden sculptural centerpiece.
There is still time left to be in the running for this year's edition of the A' Design Awards and be one of the winning talents. Begin the process now by submitting your inspiring interior and architectural projects before 28 February 2016. Make sure to register your account today to begin submitting your entry to the A' Design Awards.
The annual A' Design Awards was conceived as the official accolade which charts innovation in the prolific design industry while placing the creators into the spotlight.
The contest includes a broad range of general to specific categories – 100 to be exact – with the following as a sampling: 'Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design', 'Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design', 'Interior Space and Exhibition Design', 'Textile, Fabric, Textures, Patterns and Cloth Design', '3D Printed Forms and Products' and 'Architecture, Building and Structure Design'. If none of these are your cup of tea, a neutral category will classify even the most hypercreative works. Comprised of a sampling of professionals from creative fields, academia and press outlets, an international jury follows the principles and strict selection guidelines set forth by the A' Design Awards committee. Gather more detailed information about the awards here.
Begin the submission process by registering your account to nominate your design and enter your innovative entries to the A' Design Award 2015 competition before 28 Feburary 2016.
What do A' Design Award winners receive?
In addition to receiving a 3D printed metal trophy for eternal posterity, the benefits of winning an A' Design Award include – and are definitely not limited to – an invitation to celebrate the accolade in an elegant gala event in Lake Como, Italy, inclusion in the World Design Rankings, help with making press kits to promote the design, networking opportunities, promotion in the form of an annual winners yearbook and press coverage by publications.
Winners will be unveiled on 15 April 2016. A selection of winners from categories of architecture, interiors, product and fashion design will be announced on frameweb.com so be sure to watch this space!
