Modern Ninja and the Black Fist

Pitch black walls, bare timber floors and intimidating tribal sculptures decorated London’s LN-CC store during its first product-focused installation event last week.

LN-CC invited Japanese-Danish studio The Inoue Brothers to unleash their creative juices on one of its rooms for a party on 15 September. For the project, they collaborated with Japanese streetwear-inspired clothing brand SASQUATCHfabrix.

Their resulting display had a ‘otherworldly’ atmosphere, with tribal connotations to reflect the title and theme: Modern Ninja and the Black Fist. The installation was intended to work alongside and showcase a new clothing collection they designed together.

The two design firms met London on a research trip and were set up by a mutual friend. After realizing their common interest for an ethical approach to design, the collaboration began.

‘From the outset, we wanted to work with each other but our two styles were so different, which has been the most exciting thing about this collaboration,’ say SASQUATCHfabrix and The Inoue Brothers. ‘We both had to open up to each other’s strengths and adapt to reach this super special and exclusive collection.’
