The IE School of Architecture and Design of IE University in Madrid offers a Diploma in Strategic Interior Design, which guides the development of future-proof spaces across sectors. On 15 February, prospective students can learn more at a FRAME x IE event in the Spanish capital.

How can you design interiors that build communities? What does it take to meet the wellbeing needs of spatial users? And how do you do this sustainably? These questions and more are at the heart of IE School of Architecture and Design’s Diploma in Strategic Interior Design, a six-month programme that will kick off in April 2023. FRAME is joining forces with IE to motivate, inspire and encourage working designers and students alike to future-proof their spatial design practice.

The course shows how to use UX analysis, wellbeing strategies, metrics for ESG goals, digital tools, and more to create holistic interiors. Programme participants can balance their study with work, as it’s a part-time, hybrid commitment. The 15 February FRAME x IE event – PechaKucha night – sets the stage for the course’s launch, exploring the power of spaces to leverage potential and meet the goals of an organization, business, people and brands. Attendees and the FRAME community have a special opportunity, too: they’ll receive up to a 40 per cent scholarship for the strategic interior design course.

Held at the IE tower and moderated by our director and founder Robert Thiemann, PechaKucha night brings together guests Raphael Gielgen of VITRA, Elvira Muñoz of AECOM, Melanie Chismechian of Savills and Andrea Caruso, founder of Ciszak Dalmas Design Studio. Together, they’ll present a tour of 2023 trends in interior design, from designing for the future and work-resort concepts, to the phygital in retail and designing with purpose.

‘Today’s world is shifting rapidly, and we have to adapt to the times,’ academic director Elvira Muñoz says. ‘Whether you work in real estate, development, investment banking or consulting, the digital transformation happening across these industries is undeniable. This interactive programme is for both designers and non-designers working at organizations seeking to revolutionize interior spaces to boost transformation.’

PechaKucha night will take place at 6:30 CET at IE Tower in Madrid. Register for the event here.
