SUPER PLANET CLUB: A Commercial Exploration and Practice of Curved Aesthetics

"La línea recta es del hombre, La curva pertenece a Dios. Straight lines belong to man, curves belong to God."——Antoni Gaudí

In the realm of architecture and design, curves have always held a unique charm and profound significance, symbolizing the rhythm of nature, the pulse of life, and transcending conventional design languages.

The SUPER PLANET CLUB designed by YELLOW CHEN, is a multifaceted entertainment and social venue that embodies the essence of curved aesthetics, embracing freedom and diversity. The design team has skillfully integrated curves into every aspect of the project, from strategic planning and brand development to architectural design and interior spaces, allowing curves to flow seamlessly throughout.

The club’s exterior features fluid, organic curves and wave-like forms, moving away from rigid straight lines and right angles. The main entrance, with its double-hall layout, serves as a transitional space that warmly welcomes visitors. The lobby’s curved walls echo the building’s exterior design. The elegant arcs enhance visual appeal while harmonizing natural forms with artistic beauty. Various curves connect all areas, creating efficient traffic flow and guiding visitors’ gazes naturally to different scenes. This continuity of curves from the exterior to the interior spaces unites the entire design concept.

In the private rooms, curves take on diverse forms, complemented by irregular screens and dynamic lighting programs. The interplay of fluid lines and multidimensional light creates a rich, immersive atmosphere. Every curve and angle has been meticulously designed to optimize spatial efficiency. The contrast between irregular spaces and geometric forms adds depth and dimension, offering visitors an immersive entertainment experience.

The design of the SUPER PLANET CLUB represents a profound exploration of curved aesthetics. It breaks free from traditional geometric constraints, showcasing the beauty and power of curves. This project is not merely about shaping physical space but also about experimenting with future lifestyles. The designers use curved forms to create a borderless social ecosystem within the architectural body. Here, the building becomes an organism, and curves serve as a medium for human imagination to flourish in a liberated space. There are no fixed aesthetic norms, only fluid experiences; no predetermined social rules, only infinite possibilities for connection.
