The campus was an employee regional center, so the challenge was to attract talent, provide a welcoming campus, ensure a safe working environment, and be fiscally responsible so that the campus met the organization’s budget guidelines for a non-client facing campus. The Main Street campus layout was designed like an urban open-air retail mall atmosphere offering a variety of amenities from a JPMC tech bar of the future to a back-yard barbeque kiosk run by a small local business. The mix of amenities catered toward a diverse, tech-centric demographics that promoted casual collisions between employees and active destination centers across the campus. To bring a sense of employee ownership and pride, the campus was developed through user mapping experience studies. To build trust, JPMC provided subject matter experts who met with the design team regularly to co-create solutions that balanced innovative ideas and proven best practices. This process was vital to facilitate owner decision making throughout the project and employee buy-in with the results. The JPMC brand was infused through communal lifestyle, astute use of finances, operational efficiency, and an austere clean aesthetic. These smart investments let the employees know that JPMC supports them today and for the long term.
