This year's FRAME Awards winners were announced at our first-ever ceremony in China

This past weekend, FRAME took to the Shenzhen campus of fashion brand Marisfrolg to name and celebrate its 2023 Awards winners.

On 14 October, we named FRAME Awards’ 34 annual winners, culminating 10 months of project submissions, jury deliberations and engagement with our audiences for the platform’s 2023 iteration. Creating a space of celebration and connection around the world’s best interior design projects and products, FRAME Awards holds a round every month, with these winners going on to be shortlisted for our annual prize. This year marks the first time we’ve had our closing ceremony outside of our home country, the Netherlands – and a post-COVID revival of the physical event.

Including China’s top designers, government officials and FRAME founder Robert Thiemann, ceremony attendees alighted on the campus of dynamic fashion brand Marisfrolg, an otherworldly building newly brought to life by New Zealand firm Architecture Van Brandenburg. The venue – with a form comprising a series of interconnecting curvilinear structures symbolizing the movement of a bird in flight – offered a spatial experience reflective of FRAME Awards’ emphasis on innovation and creativity. Rich exchange was facilitated with FRAME Lab, a day programme of talks, coming together with the evening Awards ceremony.

While our winners come from all over the globe, FRAME Awards sees a large percentage of Chinese submitters – and winners – year after year, and the event acknowledged this great cultural union of design innovation. Congratulations to this year’s crowned projects, products, studios and designers, and a big thanks to our partners in China who made this edition possible. Get a glimpse into the event below:
