Project Background
The restaurant is located in Uni Elite Plaza of Shanghai's Xintiandi sector, the restaurant has undergone a complete brand upgrade, hence the disruptive design changes.

Innovation
The restaurant has a great location, along both sides of the street, one side being the street and the other side being the inner street of the mall. The facade along the street is designed in a more restrained manner in order to differentiate it from the neighboring stores, with a large white stream stone paired with small blue bricks as the main element of the entire building facade, which is simple and elegant in the midst of the bustling street-level shops.

Creativity
The restaurant has an open layout with a clear ceiling height of 4.5m. In order to maximize the use of the floor height, the designer used different ceiling heights to divide different areas - the bar area and the dining area. The design of different elevation heights also increases the sense of spatial hierarchy, while the sliding lighting system is hidden in the elevation of the ceiling moulding, visually making the ceiling more clean and simple. The aisle serves as a transition between the two areas, so the designer used the element of a million mirrors on the ceiling of the aisle, and through the refraction of the mirrors at different angles, the two main areas are blended together, making the space more unified and harmonious.

Functionality
The design of the space is centered around a natural and relaxing tone, and many of the soft decorations were selected together with the owner, including green tone tableware, relaxing tapestries, a happy tree in the center of the space, as well as a variety of tables and chairs and many types of artistic lamps, in the hope of creating a place of freedom, aiming to provide a place for the residents of the neighboring office buildings and the community to have a relaxing and cozy exchange of ideas.

Sustainability
As the restaurant is along the street on both sides, the design does not want to completely separate the restaurant from the outside world, through a large area of windows will be the restaurant indoor and outdoor intermingled with each other, to maximize the introduction of natural light into the interior, during the day in the basis of not turning on the artificial light also fully meet the needs of the restaurant's daily business. In terms of materials, the designer wanted the whole space to adhere to the principles of simplicity, minimalism and practicality, so the design eschewed ostentatious decorations. With a focus on simple and rustic materials, the floor is made of small blue bricks used outdoors, and their untouched seams create a natural and rustic feel. Elm wood, which is often used in outdoor environments, was chosen as a decorative material for the walls. The selection and use of materials minimizes costs and environmental pollution.
