In the heart of Munich, on Sendlinger street, the adidas Terrex Flagship presents a retail space as an instrument of connection, connecting the brand and its products, culture, and expertise to the consumer needs and passions.
The approach to sustainable design by selecting bio-based, recycled, and recyclable materials is on display from the moment you enter the space. The open shop window features 3D printed, biodegradable mannequins in movement poses with their base set in recycled, compressed paper. The entire interior features natural materials ranging from natural clays providing humidity regulation and local pebbles providing haptic quality to modern biopolymers.
The bespoke lead-in area greets consumers as they enter. Above it, a digital canopy provides the changing scenery enabling an immersive campaign presentation.
The new Terrex retail concept has a connection to the outdoors at its core; this connection amplifies with the use of live foliage in store. Multiple touchpoints create a pleasant, vibrant link to nature. Besides the green wall, the most innovative is the ceiling planters, embedded in the adidas ceiling track system and watered automatically.
The Terrex product is presented on a flexible wall pole systems that displays apparel, footwear, and accessories by characterizing carefully designed elements. Different mid-floor blocks are entirely modular and made with natural and recyclable materials that allow creative composition of product islands that invite consumers to browse and discover.
The Discovery Zone is one such island where sustainable Terrex products are displayed. Consumers can take a break, connect and immerse themselves in the outdoor atmosphere while learning more about adidas' approach to sustainability and innovation. This area offers an excellent opportunity to engage more profoundly with educational tools that detail how plastic waste is collected and turn it into a product.
The store's heart is the Munich Hub, a monolithic counter also providing a seating space where, besides transactions, consumers can receive professional advice. The Munich Hub is also a destination for repair services and an information point where consumers can see the upcoming events in the store. Connection to the outdoors is provided through multiple digital touchpoints featuring the planning of hiking routes, interactive product information on the footwear wall, and immersive Instagrammable moments in the fitting rooms.
The carefully crafted lighting design elevates the entire store environment, aiming to create beautifully illuminated products and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
The adidas Terrex flagship is pending the highest LEED certification (Platinum) and is our most sustainable store to date.
