Curated by Atelier FORTH FORCE, the Moving Art exhibition for IM Motors has transformed an old historic building in Shanghai into a stunning exhibition venue that captures the essence of the local autumn landscape. The project is situated in a Mediterranean-style old house on Wukang Road, which was once used as the workplace for the Italian Consulate General in Shanghai, belonging to the Historical and Cultural Feature Area along Hengshan Road to Fuxing Road in the city.

Based on the spatial characteristics, the design team aimed to create changing sceneries with each step and utilized the existing garden corridor to create a seamless flow through the exhibition spaces. To echo the outdoor seasonal scenery in autumn, the design incorporated sustainable reusable metal to update the facade, using reflective textures and autumnal color filters to harmonize with the natural surroundings.

The inside and outside of the exhibition space complement each other and integrate different natural colors and textures, creating a visually captivating, harmonious, and interactive experience that resonates with the historic district. Life is like a dynamic masterpiece. We meticulously observe it and capture the intricate details, preserving the fleeting moments of beauty and weaving them into the fabric of our memories. In the "Moving Art" exhibition, the concept of "movement" serves as a gateway to encapsulate the subtle nuances of life through artistic installations.

Here, we savor the delicate essence of life as it unfolds along the visiting route, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the profound connection between life and art. Besides, the renovation of the old house incorporated environmentally friendly and reusable materials for both the internal and external exhibition space. The aim is to create an artistic space that conveys beauty and preserves it. By presenting the theme of nature, the exhibition also seeks to promote respect for and protection of the natural world.
