With a vision to bring the brand’s vision to life, LW Design, has created a luxury hotel destination – “The Third Icon” of Sydney cove. The project is inspired by the same tapestry of rich history and local significance, respectfully acknowledging the past, present and emerging people of this land, to create a truly authentic & unique luxury experience.

Paired with a deep understanding of Australian culture and the historic brand, curated elements are seamlessly interwoven within the interior-architecture, expressed through proportion, form, and volume, to create a tangible design vision. Materials are locally sourced such as the Kimberly Pink sandstone throughout the lobby.

The ground floor layout orchestrates guest entrance beginning from the Porte-cochère arrival experience, check-in, through to the multiple lounging options. The lobby also houses the brands’ iconic pillars which offer guests an ‘experience within an experience’, creating a carefully curated journey to make guest’s stay as memorable as possible. In the 36sqm guest room, overlooking the harbour, the interior frames the sought-after view ensuring that there is a clear communication between the architecture and the interior, respecting the architect’s and client’s visions for the property.

The required opulence is juxtaposed by a thoughtful design ensuring there is minimal wastage, while still achieving a luxurious design. For example, the intricate floor pattern that welcomes guests in the foyer are stone mosaics which can be from excess materials, the leather and wallpaper panels carefully considers wastage. And every design element is considered and serves its ergonomic purpose while retaining a visual elegance.

Skillfully merged with iconic brand pillars and offset by local artisan objects in the hues of the surrounding landscape, the result is a property that truly embodies a ‘Sense of Place’ and encapsulates the traditions and heritage of its namesake, and this iconic Sydney location. The design will embody the importance of this culturally significant site to create a groundbreaking, legacy landmark destination.
