The showroom occupies a total area of 1200 square meters, marking the largest ZEEKR Center designed by HATCH. ZEEKR Center occupies a space on the second floor with window views. Its façade features a wavy form, resonating with the movement of water of Jialing River.
In this project, we focus on solving two major problems: i. To make best of the iconic glass façade and create ideal spaces for display against the backdrop of window views; ii. To conduct a user-friendly floor plan that enhances user experience.
While the wavy façade is an eye-catching feature from the street, it becomes a challenge when we arrange the floor plan - The showroom is cut into two parts, each dominated by a U-shaped area; In addition, structural columns of the super high-rise building increase difficulty to create an unobstructed space.
Walls are installed to enclose columns. Looking at the walls from certain angles, they are layered in a rhythmic style like vertical terraces.
Characteristics of the city are also incorporated into the design. With the famous Jialing River running across the city, Chongqing is known as the “fog city”, inspired by which we come up with the concept of “Jialing River Fog” to set a stylistic tonality. Neutral colors are employed in walls and floors to create a soft and warm ambience. Flex LED strips are installed along the wavy wall edge to simulate the misty river fog.
In dealing with several un-hideable columns in the space, we endow them with functions. For instance, we design L-shaped shelves along the wall for display and storage. With books and magazine scattered on the shelves, visitors are welcomed to spend more time to relax and indulge in the showroom.
The vibe of “Jialing River Fog” is highlighted at ZEEKR Lounge. With the employment of RGBW system, lighting of the space varies throughout the day: warm white at day time ensures efficiency for work and business; while it subtly switches to warm white after sunset, setting up a cozy and relaxing tonality for the evening.
The vastness of the space opens up possibilities in usage, providing diverse and thoughtful service and experience for visitors. A forum area sits next the the bar area, which can accommodate up to 30 people. Curtains are installed as partitions, featuring easy and flexible openings and closures. The choice of color for the curtain also resonates with view of river fogs.
In addition to public areas, ZEEKR Center also provides private areas such as meeting rooms and hiding zone, catering for meetings and small events.
