Yezyce Kuchnia is located in a modernist building in the old area of Poznań city named Jeżyce. The 90m² space is surrounded with huge windows that expose the view of the street and let in lots of daylight. The light and the ability to observe the life on the street are an exceptional value to this place and therefore the main concept of the project was to emphasize them. Yezyce Kuchnia is located in the open space, so we decided to divide it into smaller functional areas related to the different times of the day when people come and have a meal. In the area closest to the entrance we placed a large common breakfast table. The next, central area was created for the lunch time. Here you can find the heart of the restaurant – a huge bar counter crowned with an art deco-like pendant lamp. In this lunch space there are smaller tables and a tall table with bar stools at the window. The last zone is the evening-dining zone, located in the farthest part of the interior, so it is the most hidden and intimate one. There you will find small tables and a comfortable upholstered bench, which on the one side is closed with a long velvet curtain, and on the other side with plants. This is the darkest space of the restaurant and it is lit by small lights above the tables, and the daylight overflows the plants in the window. Each functional zone is distinguished by the colour and material selection from the brightest ones in the breakfast zone to the darkest ones in the evening area.
