This space is serving as both an exhibition hall of colorful accessories, and a multi-functional office. And as the office space, it requires more flexibility and variety based on people’s needs. The project is located in the 9-story office building of Shanghai Qibao Vanke International. The company serves the largest fashion brand in Europe and this office is both an exhibition hall of accessories and office space for 10 staff. After research of their products, we found out all those accessories are divided into two color trends and styles – spring/summer and autumn/winter. Having investigated the sophisticated size/color/style of the product itself, we realized that, all these diversities need a very clean exhibit space. Combining the square exsiting space with the concept of catwalks, we changed the typical linear catwalk into a U-shape to extend the display path of the space. The curved part is a fixed display area, and the two sides of the showcase can be used to display the two series of products. The other linear parts are used as movable display cabinets, and the middle square area meets the requirements of mobile and flexible exhibition. In the U-shaped gray space, an area is reserved for resting, and the other areas are used for landscape. In the flowing space and in the interspersed gap contains the mixed function of T stage/exhibition hall/office, work/exhibition/walking, landscape/light and shadow/mobility. Besides the U-shaped exhibition hall is used as the connection. Connecting the office on the west side with natural light intake with the pantry and meeting room on the east without natural light. In order to allow the natural light enter the interior space from curtain walls on the South and West sides, the office partitions are made by gradual film glass. The U-shaped exhibition area are covered with curved PE panels and linear lights are installed to emphasize the circular exhibition area. The mobile cabinets in the exhibition area are perforated to meet the needs of light, film, and carry adjustable acrylic support hangers.
