xLINK Marunouchi Palace Front is a shared office by MITSUBISHI ESTATE CO., LTD. The value of the more than 40-year-old building with its outstanding view of the Imperial Palace was enhanced to create an environment with a high-class interior and user-friendly spatial functions that embody the prestige of Marunouchi, the economic center city of Japan. The design concept was Natural Mid Century, creating a new Japanese modern style that combines Japandy elements with a midcentury atmosphere. While using Japanese paper as well as plaster and plastering materials, brass-colored steel was used throughout the space to create a sense of unity. We believe that creating spaces with materials that can be enjoyed over time is a symbol of sustainability.
The user experience occurs from the moment they step off the elevator. To raise the level of the spatial experience at a low cost, the interior of the elevator hall was painted as a base and effectively used sanmento to create a sense of luxury. The lighting plan is also designed to lead users to the shared office so that the eye is not drawn to the frame walls, which give the impression of age.
At the entrance, there is a reception desk where communicators welcome you, and behind it is a lounge that tenants can use freely. The window surface, which offers a view of the greenery of the Imperial Palace, has been formed into an arch shape, and counter seating in front of the window has been enhanced. In the center of the floor, we created a big table with planted trees and a device that allows music to flow from the wooden flooring at its foot.
To ensure that the space functions as a work lounge for people from a wide variety of companies, the back height and orientation of each seat was designed so that they can't look other's back , while velvet fabrics and brass-colored dividers were used extensively to give a sense of luxury to the materials.
An exclusive lounge is also provided in the resident's private area. This lounge does not have a window surface, so it was set up as a lounge where meals can be served, with the coloring set in bright tones. A kitchenette has been installed to function as a starting point for communication between residents, while at the same time creating a calm and relaxing environment.
Each resident's private room is large enough to accommodate their needs, and is furnished from the start to create the perfect environment to accelerate business immediately after moving in. The areas for medium-sized clients (20 people) have a darker color scheme to create a more dignified mood, while the use of diatomite wallpaper keeps the space feeling airy.
