The presentation of Stanisław Wyspiański’s works and memorabilia came in the form of a cycle of exhibitions. The first part was a display of almost 500 Wyspiański’s selected works from the collection of the National Museum in Krakow. They were examples of the artist’s versatile creative activity: drawings, oil paintings, pastels, watercolours, pounces, sculptures, as well as arts and crafts. The exhibition included monumental designs of paintings and stained glass windows for Krakow’s temples and public buildings: the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, the Wawel Cathedral and the Medical Society House.
In January 2019, part of the “Wyspiański” exhibition was changed: the spaces devoted to the artist’s applied art were used to accommodate the “Wyspiański. Unknown” exhibition – focused on Wyspiański’s book art and his reading fascinations, i.e. books that served him as the source of artistic inspirations. Among other exhibits, one could see the first printings of Wyspiański’s dramas and other artist’s works with covers and illustrations made by Wyspiański. An important element of this exhibition was the artist’s private library.
The artist’s works and memorabilia corresponded to the architectonic design of the exhibition in a well-thought manner.
