Bean Buro has transformed the Warner Music Taiwan office into a creative hub that blends international identity with local cultural heritage. Located in Taipei's Xinyi District, this design encourages collaboration and innovation among staff and artists, reflecting Warner Music's global mission for dynamic workspaces. A key challenge was merging the cohesive brand identity with local cultural elements, ensuring relevance within the Taiwanese community. Materials were sourced locally to minimise reliance on international imports while maintaining quality. Close collaboration with local design partners celebrated Taiwan's heritage and achieved sustainability goals.
The design is inspired by Danish artist Tilde Grynnerup, featuring vibrant patterns and an earthy colour palette that fosters creativity. Mirrors throughout the office reflect lush greenery outside, creating a seamless connection with nature. The open-plan layout uses playful ceiling treatments and LED art installations to enhance spatial clarity, with carefully selected colours defining areas for focused work and collaboration.
Dynamic features include bespoke joinery and unique wall panelling. Central to the design is the “Playful Platform,” a flexible stage with custom seating that promotes interaction. A wall with optical illusions and musical graphics reinforces the theme, while local murals enrich the environment. An open stainless steel kitchen adds a sleek urban touch. Prioritising well-being in line with the WELL Building Standard, calming colours create a relaxed atmosphere, complemented by vibrant accents that boost engagement. Natural light and greenery promote mental well-being, while sound-absorbing materials mitigate noise. Biophilic elements enhance mood and reduce stress, with communal areas encouraging social interaction.
Sustainability is crucial, with glazed partitions maximising daylight to reduce energy consumption. The open ceiling minimises gypsum usage, and vinyl flooring provides an environmentally friendly alternative, avoiding harsh cleaning chemicals. All materials sourced locally support Taiwan’s economy. The workspace includes distinct functional zones, with an open area fostering collaboration, a pantry and stage for informal gatherings, and enclosed offices for privacy. Meeting rooms facilitate discussions, while a studio room caters to high-quality recordings and a multifunctional space encourages creativity through games and karaoke.
The design balances vibrancy and tranquillity, fostering both social interaction and concentration. Expansive views over lush tree canopies create a soothing atmosphere. Thoughtful zoning and design elements inspire innovation and collaboration, exemplifying Bean Buro's commitment to establishing a global standard across Warner Music workplaces.
