The area used in this case is about 120 m2. For the owner, the ideal home should be “a vacation home in the city. When you open the door, it makes you feel like entering another world”.

There were 2 separate bedrooms (two bedrooms share one floor-to-ceiling window), two bathrooms and a nanny’s room. The total area is not large enough that each room is small, narrow, estranged and cramped. And the original living room had a very unreasonable length-width ratio and was narrow, though it was very big. After communication with the owner, the designer decided to knock out the wall of kitchen adjacent to the living room and the wall between the two bedrooms. The renovated house met the initial vision of owner Wang Xin, namely, a spacious living room and a large room with excellent scenery.

The renovated living room is square and spacious, and acts as the public area of this “vacation home in the city”. Here, cocktail parties for less than 30 people can be hold, and 5 or 6 friends can be invited for dinner, etc.

After the wall between two rooms was gotten through, the bedroom became spacious and bright. The passage behind the bed leads to the main bathroom and the living room. A whole glass wall was specially used in the design, which separates the area without blocking the light. On the opposite side of the bed, there is a long ground glass window. Looking out of the window, the towering and brilliant silhouette of the core zone in the city makes the home modern and magnificent.
