The Seezeitlodge Hotel & Spa is a unique destination, located in the Saar-Hunsrueck Nature Park, situated on top of a wooded hill at the Bostalsee .

NICOLAY DESIGN developed the resort’s overall concept, its special features and unique corporate design, as well as its “story”. A most recent expansion of the Celtic-Spa, with its new, large relaxation room, fits harmoniously into the overall concept. Again, as previously for the entire hotel, Nicolay Design used a holistic approach to the topography, the lake and woods, while incorporating the site’s Celtic heritage and the mysticism of the regional forest.

The guests approach the relaxation room from the highest of five levels. The funnel-shaped room’s geometry opens up to the outside space, while the terraced structure offers all guests views to the outside from each level and to the adjacent forest. Mirrors covering the entire east side’s walls create an expansive experience, while reflecting the lake and the sunset.
Organically shaped arches separate the levels, cleverly concealing the statically needed columns. Its arches form the stylistic element of the room. In addition, intimate areas invite to rest, while protecting from other guests and any disturbances.
One the one hand the arches influence the staircase, while the balustrades to the left and right separate the walkway from the rest areas.

Gradually, the color moves from sand to light cotto, to dark cotto, giving the room an exciting depth, while looking natural with these foliage colors. Floors, walls, all built-in furniture and ceiling are connected with seamless, tone in tone materials and let the room generate a feel-good atmosphere through arches and lights.

In addition to individual loungers and rocking chairs, hanging sofas and built-in cubicles create a special retreat on the fifth level. The highlight of the room is the lowest level, equipped with a bench and book displays, which invite you to read.
The seating arrangement alignment focuses on the lake, beds are orientated towards the windows.

The atmosphere and the Celtic Spa’s “story” connect to the region’s history, incorporated in the decoration, lamps and wall structures, with Celtic braid and knot patterns, reminiscent of fish traps and elves’ nests, all of which were exclusively designed for the project. Natural products, seamless surfaces, oiled local woods, sand and earth tones enhance the resort’s comfort, atmosphere and ambiance.

In addition, NICOLAY DESIGN developed the lighting design, immersing the room in atmospheric and circadian light, which, together with spatial psychological aspects in the room’ s arrangements, create a psychological comfort zone for the guests. In addition, the signature lamp, the “elves’ nest”, was specially created for the project, connecting to the region’s history. The resort’s style is straightforward, casual, cozy, seductive, playful and refreshingly different and always surprising.
