W Aspen Hotel is a re-imagining of the traditional ski chalet: Set at the foot of towering Aspen Mountain, its 88 guestrooms, 11 branded residences, and 5 suites evoke the warmth of traditional chalet architecture and wink at the decadence of Aspen in the ‘70s. Public areas feature sleek white oak paneling and vibrant murals throughout by local and international street artists. Iconic features woven throughout the spaces derive from Aspen’s history as a mining town and from indigenous Ute Indian patterns. These include the geometric silver dome--actually a DJ booth-- hanging above the lobby representing the largest silver nugget ever found at Smuggler Mine. Guest rooms and suites are unconventionally laid out featuring commodious expo vanities, oversized walk-up closets, and free-standing lacquered minibar cabinets. Nearly half of the standard rooms also feature bunk- or staggered-height beds in varying configurations accommodating as many as eight guests. Amenities include a three-meal restaurant/lounge, fitness and meeting rooms as well as a club-like ultralounge. Outdoor spaces include a furnished apres-ski fire pit lounge at the terrace level and a rooftop pool deck and bar providing 360-degree views for miles.
