architect cruise ship

For Virgin Voyages, concrete designed the architecture and interiors of the upper decks creating a true wellness experience. For the new generation cruise ship travelers, concrete joined Virgin’s mission to redefine the cruise ship – from experience & design to the importance of sustainability. For the innovative ship, concrete created a true wellness experience ranging from yachting glamour to leisure and relaxation. concrete changed the blueprint of a traditional cruise ship by adding an actual running track connecting the decks. This track invites passengers to sprint, skate or stroll. The AthleticClub incorporates an active TrainingCamp room, outdoor boxing ring and basketball court. To relax, the Trophy bar offers the largest sunbeds, a catamaran-inspired net floating above the ocean and small cabanas. The AquaticClub pool-deck is a serene space for relaxation by day and an outdoor club at night. The Gin&Tonic-bar is a post work-out oasis where guests can relax in the biggest jacuzzi at sea. The Gym offers a dark, theatrical lit area for work-out fanatics on one side and a light, serene area for inner peace on the other side. Sustainability-wise, the ship is pioneering in using sustainably sourced materials, new technologies and strong policies to ‘sea change for all’. From design choices that minimize their carbon footprint, to the purification of wastewater and banishment of single-use plastics.
