Project brief
Transform a seven-bedroom villa into a feminine home that’s soft, cosy, understated and family orientated. LW Design was to ensure each room had their own identity and flowed seamlessly. LW created separation between the family living areas and the formal areas; this dictated the overall flow and layout of the villa.

LW Design was tasked to create a soft and inviting scheme with neutral colours, warm timbers, and soft grey marble. The spaces were designed to connect the vast landscape, majlis and formal dining to create a contemporary garden room surrounded by the gardens. Biophilic living continues throughout with large plants and doors that open onto terraces.

Design elements
LW installed screens behind the master beds displaying custom artwork. The space is divided with champagne gold screens and decorative shelving. Luxury silk and wool rugs were added for comfort. The open plan living room has a central show kitchen and split into areas to create intimate seating. A neutral colours are used with soft textures accented with teal and dusky pink.

Execution
LW worked with contractors and suppliers to ensure samples and finishes were accurate. The process was streamlined to ensure there were few surprises when items were delivered. Ambience The result was sophistication and luxury mixed with comfort and relaxation. The artwork tied the overall experience throughout the villa bringing life and a pop of colour to the spaces.

Challenges overcome
Each room is comfortable, has its own identity and flows. LW hand-selected unique pieces of furniture rather than using more accessories causing clutter. The team coordinated with furniture suppliers to ensure fabrics and designs maintained a considered feel. It was essential to identify the character of each room.

Unique features
The ceiling height is on average 4m while the entrance ceiling height 9m. The height gives a grand first impression. The hallway leads into the living spaces and into the garden, adding life and depth to the home. The master bedroom has screen-shaped artwork which acts as a headboard. Wall-to-wall soft grey marble is complemented by bronze metal screens and a freestanding bath. Intimate seating areas, a workspace, and a TV zone help fill the room. Material selection Grey wall panels, textured wallpaper, marble floors, herringbone timber floors, gold metal, lacquer vanities and Dornbracht bathroom taps.

Innovation
All of the ideas and design elements were implemented into the design from the feature staircase to the headboard screens.

Functionality
All the spaces were designed with multiple uses in mind; the master bedroom has relaxation, TV, desk and dressing areas. The playroom had various zones for entertainment.

Creativity
Various furniture finishes, artwork and carpets gave the villa its own identity particularly personal touches were essential.

Sustainability
The design is timeless and elegant and won’t require an update for many years.
