Viale dei Romani, located in the Kimpton La Peer Hotel in West Hollywood, presents a verdant dining experience with a Mediterranean palette and modern design sensibility. New York City-based Parts and Labor Design thoughtfully crafted a restaurant that resonates a distinct feeling of Hollywood daytime luxury.
With Positano culinary roots, the restaurant exudes an upscale, casual Mediterranean feel, welcoming guests to relax and socialize as soon as they step inside. A custom host stand crafted from a mosaic of mirror and wood greets guests upon entry with lush hanging ferns above. The bar glimmers with prismatic shelving and brass detailing, reminiscent of deco jewelry. The design team took a considered approach to the custom bar face, which features creamy Crystal Stratus Danby Marble with bold veining for heavy contrast. Custom-designed bar stools encourage bar dining for a casual, yet upscale, neighborhood vibe.
Adjacent to the bar, café seating and a cozy banquette tucked back in an alcove set the scene, with a blend of vintage and modern-inspired furniture. An oversized lounge-style banquette anchors the dining room with its golden, yellow velvet upholstery. A massive, oval central coffer detail formed out of curved wood and metallic gold paint creates a feature within the main dining room ceiling that incorporates a mirror to reflect the plantings and textured columns below. Custom pendants hanging in the main dining room draw inspiration from the sea.
