The new classrooms have been designed as large multipurpose flexible spaces equipped with light, modular and mobile furniture, allowing in a few minutes to transform the room in several formats. A cooperative learning and interdisciplinary guidance requires classrooms prepared to facilitate new relationships among students and teachers. There are included magnetic white boards, digital cameras, microphones and broadcast streaming and touch televisions.
This new teaching model, started by the School of Management is based on learning challenges, projects and mentors, and adaptable to the needs of each student. It is a model where the student is the main character, and by active involvement and practical learning, they improve the performance and learning capability. To help this process, the spaces had to match some design principles:
Comfort: spaces had to create a physical and mental feeling of comfort and wellbeing.
Aesthetics: the pleasure which includes the recognition of symmetry, harmony, simplicity and fitness for use.
Integration: balance between technological and educational resources.
Re-use: the potential for multiple use of space.
