As a new development company to the market, Untitled Developers seized the opportunity to recreate what it means to be a developer in Vancouver. Untitled’s core philosophy is based on an infinite loop, designed to foster an eco system of human wellness & achievement; beginning with individual wants & needs & ending with the individual experience in practical built works of art. The office design seamlessly incorporates their principles, translating them into a vibrant design language that mirrors the essence of the firm's distinct approach, rooted in the principles of being Artist Led, Ambitious, Collaborative, & Differentiated.

Through the integration of Shirley Wiebe’s art piece, “Rain from a Cloudless Sky”, the principle of being ‘Artist Led’ is reflected by removing the boundary between art & the built environment. In concert with other curated design elements, this artistic integration creates an unexpected response & redefines the norms of behavior within the office environment.

Embracing innovation & commitment to originality, the principles of 'Ambition' & ‘Differentiation’ unfold in the avant-garde approach to space planning & programming. Diverging from the conventional, this design implements a bold program, iconic artwork, & luxurious materials. Best noticed through the reception, guests are welcomed into a dynamic environment featuring a bar & open gathering space. This atmosphere is heightened by the inclusion of custom curved glass & solid curved wood meeting spaces, evoking a truly surreal & immersive experience, that simultaneously reflects & strengthens the core-value of ‘Collaboration’. Both the inside of the glass room & the inverse space serve to host incidental & organized gatherings, fostering a flexible environment consistently prepared for collaboration.

Challenging the norms of office design created new challenges to overcome. The absence of a defined reception area required the design team to carefully study the user experience from a variety of perspectives: What does arrival look like for an expected guest? An unexpected guest? Deliveries? The solution resulted in cameras & integrated apps, allowing for a seamless arrival experience for every visitor to the space. In addition, to encompass all of Untitled’s principal values, expected visitors are greeted by the owner herself with a custom curated beverage in hand.

The office project was also an exercise in reuse, as the interior will one day be moved to the developers own building once constructed. The art installation, millwork, partitions, & fixtures will be removed & reinstalled in the soon-to-be constructed Vancouver office building.
