Completed in 2016, Crown Towers is a luxury resort with exquisite details. The bar within the hotel is known as TWR and is divided into four components; outer bar, inner bar, outdoor terrace and private VIP area. The aspiration for the project was to create a space with a strong narrative, allowing visitors to feel a sense of occasion and to celebrate the grandeur of the hotel. Evocative references to context, collaborations with artists and the ability to create immersive experiences distinguishes the project. The outer bar acts like a conservatory, set in jewel-like colours of rich blues and greens, while the use of hand painted fabrics speaks to the influence of Palm Springs resort design. The inner bar is moodier, with rich turquoise and emerald accents. Central to the space is a striking horseshoe shaped bar created from curved, fluted-fingers of pink and white marble. Handmade tiles in gold and green create a jewel-like feel. The enclosed VIP area, one of the most exclusive in Western Australia, has its own dedicated terrace, sunken conversation pit and beautifully appointed powder rooms. The outdoor terrace area includes a pergola and lush greenery that helps to create a dappled light effect. Wrought iron fencing softly curves around the terrace to gently enclose the area.
