Once the domain of renowned Georgian Poet and Aristocrat, Alexander Chavchavadze, TSINANDALI, is a beautiful estate, with hundreds of acres of vineyards, forests and gardens, in the foothills of the snowcapped Caucasus. Chavchavadze (1786-1846) was a man of boundless curiosity who loved to travel, and was often in the company of writers, musicians and artists sharing new ideas from around the world. Today, the energy and vision of Georgian Entrepreneur George Ramishvili and his carefully chosen Group of International Architects and Designers in association with local Georgian artists have has drawn on the legacy of Chavchavadze to produce a magnificent 21st Century TSINANDALIESTATE. Septiembre Arquitectura, the planning, architectural and interior design team based in Mexico City and Barcelona originated the unifying design concept “Connecting the Centuries” and amplified this theme with the idea of “Co-existence In Nature” as a design directive. TSINANDALI,’s winery, built in the early 19th century has been completely restored, producing world class wines with state of the art technologies. The former residence of Chavchavadze is currently a museum and art gallery where prominent international artists are featured in rotating exhibitions. Honoring the poet love of music, two modern venues have been added; a modern Amphitheater with 1000 seats, and a more intimate Concert Hall accommodating 500 guests and featuring unparalleled acoustic design. Co Existence in Nature is reflected in the location of every new building. The estate’s forests and gardens have been used to discreetly created is tinct natural environments for restaurants, cafes, a library and a luxury hotel. Plants cover exterior walls of the hotel, allowing straight angular lines to blend softly into the natural landscape. Stonework and arches of original buildings are revisited in the striking interior construction and design. Illuminated columns support vaulted ceilings of cork and burnished metal, repeating materials found in the 19th century winery. Each floor of the one hundred and forty-one room hotel reflects a completely distinctive mood inspired by each of the Four Seasons using appropriate colours, textures and images. Velvet rich fabrics, tapestries, rugs and all furnishings are an exciting, eclectic mix of traditional Georgian, European and contemporary minimalist design elements. Attention has been paid to the smallest details playing with a careful balance of indulgence and moderation. Even the metal support structures of the modern furniture reflect the season chosen for a particular floor; Winter chrome, Spring brushed steel, Summer brass, Autumn copper. Floor to ceiling windows are strategically placed to provide maximum natural light. Interiors are illuminated by indirect lighting, discretely hidden by elegant moldings and augmented by standing lamps, pendants and a myriad of other unique forms of lighting for individual suites, corridors, lobbies and restaurants. High up on the 5th floor, the luxurious Spa offers guests a variety of contemporary and traditional holistic treatments. In keeping with the idea of “co existence in nature”, the spa uses creams, oils, soaps and shampoo made from restorative properties found in the grapes grown in the vineyards. The heated outdoor infinity pool is surrounded by breathtaking views of the entire estate, including the enchanted gardens choreographed in the 1850’ sand the mountains beyond. The accumulated affect of the carefully orchestrated design elements, where the natural world merges with various cultural influences, materials and technologies, provides visitors with contemporary 5 star comfort surrounded by understated old world elegance... and perhaps a touch ofmagic.
