Wabi-Sabi, originating from the perception of beauty in everything, describes a status that a state of mind creates some kind of atmosphere. Space design is not simply Wabi-Sabi, but it retains the oriental essence, and adds decorations on that basis. The whole space looks clean and tidy, enhancing people’s perception of the spatial structure and order. The adoption of transparent photosensitive materials removes complexity and preserves what is critical. The process of design is to explore the fun and the unknown in the space. The collision between the changes of light and shadowsand metal elements of future technology stimulates unlimited interactions between users and space. The combination of retro context and futurism regenerates the “future” that people once imagined. They are given a place to experience the futuristic space that seems impossible. The space is an art scene comprised of vision and ideas. The design team utilized modern technology to simulate a context. Lots of seemingly unrelated objects, such as &Tradition's UFO-shaped pendent lamp, Areaware's pig bank featuring gold and silver color gradient, Fatboy's dog art installation and the alien-like artwork, are brought into the space to create a surreal and grotesque scene, which produces a rare serene ambience. The design blurs the boundary between reality and the virtual world, with no discrepancy between subject and object, interior and exterior, and past and present.
