Inspired by the craftsmanship of Tojiro's knife workshop, it incorporates a traditional Japanese lattice design. The design ensures functionality in terms of effective use of space and a rational structure for the wall and knife display, combined with solidity. - Masaaki Inoue
Colours were carefully chosen to enhance the beauty of Tojiro's creations, both in the display fixtures and throughout the store. The facade and overall colour scheme of the store were coordinated accordingly, aiming for a cohesive look while eliminating unnecessary decorations for a refined finish. - Masaaki Inoue
Lighting is installed in such a way that the knives and signage stand out at night. The shadows of the wall grid and other influences create an impressive interior resembling a studio. - Masaaki Inoue

This store is located in Asakusa, Tokyo. It was designed to provide a direct experience of Tojiro's unique world view for customers from all around the world. The maintenance room not only emphasises the spirit of craftsmanship but also serves as a space for fostering communication aimed at encouraging customers to use the products for an extended period. In addition, the store combines the tactile sensations of craftsmanship and the cultural elements of Japan, such as lattice patterns and factory materials, to create a distinctive and unique environment.

We used wood wool boards with insulation, humidity control, and soundproofing functions throughout the windowless reinforced concrete structure to adapt to Japan's hot and humid climate. Both the steel grid and wood wool boards are materials used in Tojiro's factory, and by finishing two different-purpose spaces in the same tone, we fused a modern essence and created a harmonious environment.

The use of iron lattice allowed us to ensure strength without constructing walls, maximising the utilisation of wall space. In the central area, the ceiling is also constructed solely using iron lattice. These elements were designed to create a more spacious feeling in the actual space and enhance user-friendliness. Thoughtfully planned spaces and intuitive displays enable us to accurately convey Tojiro's brand characteristics and diverse product lineup to customers.
